Tioga County
Tioga County was formed from parts of Lycoming County on March 26, 1804. The name "Tioga" is an Indian word which means "the forks of a stream." The population of Tioga County is just over 40,000. It is one of 12 Counties in the PA Wilds. Tioga County is also well known for their largest city, Mansfield, and their seat, Wellsboro.
